Richard re-engineered the financial accounting systems for multiple companies of varying sizes, which most recently includes his tenure with One Plant Florida. Richard remains an actively licensed CPA in the State of Florida.

Richard’s finance career began with a ten-year stretch in public accounting at Grant Thornton LLP where he was responsible for auditing companies with market caps ranging from $15 MM to $5 BN in industries including financial services, manufacturing, technology, and medical/pharmaceutical.  After working in public accounting, Richard served as controller for companies ranging from small private to large equity backed entities.  His strength is working as part of strong financial management teams to build overall systems and structural administration.

During his tenure at One Plant Florida, Richard led the accounting and finance team, his supervisory responsibilities extending to in-house accountants and third-party accountants.  He managed the accounting and finance function of One Plant ($213MM) with only one accountant as well as management of payroll function and incorporated quality review processes to minimize errors. He developed the company budget and forecast models that were examined during multiple due-diligence processes that directly led to the sale of One Plant Florida.

Richard also managed the company’s audit and tax CPAs including timely completion of all financial statement audits, reviews and tax filings. Richard also revitalized the company’s accounts payable, including a vendor negotiation leading to $500k in discounts as well as reorganization of treasury function to streamline and consolidate banking activities.  Additionally, Richard streamlined processes in accounting and finance that led to additional cost savings. He remained the lead point person during all due diligence including forecast and cap ex budget for planned expansion post One Plant Florida’s acquisition.
